An animation based on an article by Céline Henne published in the newspaper LeMonde « Brain is like any other machine ».
This article promotes a philosophical essay by Catherine Malabou entitled « Metamorphosis of intelligence, what to do with their blue brains? » This philosopher is interested in neuroscience, and regularly addresses the relationship between the mind and the brain in her writings. The brain functions on the basis of electrical and chemical signals, so we can assume that it is a machine like any other. This is the premise of Catherine Malabou’s essay, on which I base this animation.
The idea is to follow two balls of different colors as they evolve in a machine-like universe, all within a modular grid that is itself in motion. Part of the animations are in 2D, the other in false 3D, to illustrate the duality between human and artificial intelligence and evoke the different planes of consciousness.
