Cinéma Graphique

The production of a trailer and opening credits for the film Mishima, a life in four chapters. This film presents two distinct approaches : the real life of Yukio Mishima and the reality of his novels.

Here, I sought to evoke the notion of scenery through film-derived forms and rather mechanical movements.

The trailer was created using the principle of redaction, to recreate settings directly on the film and isolate certain elements. The bright colors and elements depicted, such as flames, maple leaves, pink bars, etc., hark back to the unrealistic settings and scenes found in the film.

For the opening credits, I also chose to emphasize the theatrical settings, keeping the color palette used in the trailer. Here, I sought to evoke the notion of scenery through film-derived forms and rather mechanical movements.
